When a keyword moves — especially a meaningful drop or a sudden climb — Wiley includes it in your coaching nudge with context about what changed and what to do about it.
The difference between a rank number and a coaching moment
Where your page shows up in Google search results for a specific phrase. Position 1 is the top result. Most clicks go to the first three results — dropping even a few spots on a competitive term can mean a noticeable dip in traffic.

What do you do with this?
"web design portland" dropped from position 4 to 9 over the last two weeks. The page hasn't been updated in 8 months. A couple of competitors published new case studies in that window. Adding a recent project and refreshing the page date would give search engines a signal that the page is still current — without rewriting everything.

A single position tells you nothing. A 30-day trend tells you whether you're climbing, stable, or slowly sliding — and when a change started, which usually points to something that happened on your site or a competitor's.

Common questions
How many keywords can I track?
Up to 20 keywords per site on paid plans. If you need more, reach out — limits can be adjusted for your account. The Free plan doesn't include keyword rank tracking.
Does Wiley track Google only, or other search engines too?
Google only for now. Google handles the overwhelming majority of organic search traffic for most sites. Bing tracking is on the roadmap.
How accurate are the rankings?
Wiley checks your position in Google results from a US location by default. Rankings can vary by location, device, and search history — the numbers reflect a solid baseline position, not a personalized result for any specific person.
Does keyword tracking require the tracking script?
No. Rank tracking checks Google directly — it doesn't depend on any code on your site. It works independently of the tracking script and is included on all paid plans.
